Although the Aussie was not able to top any time sheet in the all three free practice sessions but still he shook off the lack of confidence he faced after the FP1 crash. Stoner gradually steamed up to the top and was occasionally replaced by Marco Simoncelli,
Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa.
Stoner gave his best shot of 1:21.681 seconds with a top speed of 283.4 Km/h. He gave his best attempt in the last few seconds. His penultimate lap was two tenths slower than his pole position lap. The Aussie will start the race from the first position followed
by his teammate Dani Pedrosa in second place.
Dani Pedrosa gave his best lap time of 1:21.933 seconds with a top speed of 283.8 Km/h. Their third Repsol Honda teammate Andrea Dovizioso was ranked at sixth place on the final time sheet of the qualifying practice session.
The third place on the starting grid is occupied by defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo of the Yamaha Factory Racing team. The Spaniard led the third free practice session held in the morning and also managed to clock fastest lap times in the QP session
which were narrowly beaten. On the other hand, his teammate Ben Spies was fifth fastest and will start the race from second row at the Sachsenring circuit.
The top fastest rider in the first two sessions was Marco Simoncelli who set the benchmark and was also seated on top of the qualifying rounds at one stage. Later in the final minutes, his effort lacked the pace and he settled at fourth place on the starting
grid.
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Colin Edwards was placed at seventh place for the German Grand Prix and was followed by Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden whereas the other Ducati Team rider, Valentino Rossi was 16th on the starting grid.
The Brit in the Tech3 squad, Cal Crutchlow faced a crash in the final moments and was 12th to qualify. Randy de Puniet was ninth to qualify while Alvaro Bautista will start the race from the tenth place.
