Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa celebrating 10 years of racing – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda ride Dani Pedrosa has completed 10 years in motorcycle racing.
On April 8 2001, a 15-year-old Spanish kid stepped in his first MotoGP World Championship and the day April 8, 2011 marks his decade for racing on two wheels.
Pedrosa had his dream while being at the start of the World Championship Grand Prix for first time in his life. Pedrosa has been passionate for two wheel machines from a young age.
Mick Doohan, the Australian rider who dominated the MotoGP world in Repsol Honda livery, with his sheer talent, was also a star for young Pedrosa with no parallel. When Doohan was a racing star, Pedrosa was a debutant on his pocket-bike running for
his first lap at Suzuka circuit at Japan.
In the last few seasons, Pedrosa has earned to be an important rider in the premier class. Pedrosa has recently undergone a surgery for his left shoulder. After a second place finish on podium at Grande Premio bwin de Espana, Pedrosa was strictly advised
to have the surgery as he was feeling lack of strength and numbness during both previous races.
In the first round of the season at Qatar, Pedrosa was totally out of sense in his left arm, which left him with not even able to use the clutch. Now he is focused to get back in racing condition for the next upcoming round of bwin Grande Premio de
Portugal on Estoril circuit, May 1.
In the past ten years, Pedrosa has competed in 164 races and has scored a podium position in more than half races. He claimed 35 victories: once in every five races. During this span he has titled three World Championships one in the 125cc class and
two in the 250cc category. He has also been runner-up for two times in the premier class. He has been able to earn respect and name in the two wheels racing world with his talent, determination and passion.
With the leading Repsol Honda riders, who performed and proved to be the best rival in the completion, also led the winter test sessions with no other to match the pace, also have a determination to make the two wheel riders safe on their machines.
In the footprints of Dani Pedrosa, his teammates Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso will join him from ongoing season onwards in the Safety Activities for bike riders. The Repsol Honda trio will wear a Honda Safety logo on the fairings of their RC212V
in four Grands Prix during this season, starting from the second race of the season, Gran Premio bwin de Espana at Jerez circuit.
The logo is designed by Honda Montesa SA, representing Honda’s focus on the safety of riders. The logo consists of three hands, which symbolise the three aspects of Honda Safety.
