Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa eager to return to circuit – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has expressed his desire to return to the MotoGP circuit as soon as possible.
Pedrosa missed the last grand prix of the season, the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya due to his injury and will have to sit out of the upcoming British Grand Prix as well.
Dani Pedrosa commented about missing the second home event in Spain and said, “Unfortunately I missed the Barcelona race and that is a pity. It’s a special race which I expected a lot from but I just couldn’t be there. But then I'm happy for the encouraging
messages I have received from the fans, they have missed me and I've noticed their appreciation and I like it.”
Dani Pedrosa faced a severe accident during the French Grand Prix. The Spaniard was holding a second place in the race at Le Mans. San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli made an attempt to overtake Pedrosa dangerously which resulted in Pedrosa’s
fall and he suffered a fractured right collarbone.
Pedrosa underwent a surgery to fix the fracture and had small titanium plates inserted into his collar to fix the broken bone. This also hindered the healing process and delayed the recovery’s usual time.
The Spaniard told about the injury and its recovery status as he said, “I’m trying to recover as fast as I can, obviously it’s not the fastest recovery I’ve had. I have to stay calm for a while. I’m feeling better now but unable to race, it’s a pity but
I have to try to recover. We have to take it week by week.”
The 2011 season start was great for the Repsol Honda Spanish rider, Dani Pedrosa. Although he felt pain and lack of strength in the season opener round at Losail, Qatar, yet he finished the race at third place. With a continuing slight pain, he ended second
in Jerez and came out victorious in the Portugal GP after a surgery on left collarbone.
The injury has cost him two rounds. If he had taken part in the two missed events, he would have had a great chance to lead the world championship points table by now. Let’s see how he fares when he makes his return.
