Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa expresses his views at the Sachsenring presser – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda team rider Dani Pedrosa was present at the Sachsenring press meeting and expressed his views about his fitness and preparations for the ninth MotoGP event, the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
The race will take place in Sachsenring, Germany on Sunday, July 17, 2011.
The Spanish rider was helped with a two-week gap after the Italian Grand Prix. Although he managed to make a comeback at Mugello after a six-week break since the Le Mans crash but he was not in perfect physical condition to take the racing stress.
Pedrosa commented on his recovering process and said, “I’ve had two more weeks of rest so of course I’m feeling better. I don’t feel as good as I did before I crashed, but day by day I’m improving and I’m improving my strength and fitness.”
In the 2010 German Grand Prix, Pedrosa made it to the first place on the podium. It was a fruitful race for the Spanish rider. Although the race was completed in two parts but still it was a great battle for Pedrosa especially after winning the event.
Pedrosa said, “This is a track that in the past I’ve had good races at. Last year’s race was really good even though we had to stop and re-start. I’m looking forward to this weekend, maybe on Sunday it’ll rain, but we hope we can have a good race and just
try to get a rhythm.”
He also discussed the track layout, saying that the circuit holds plenty of left hand corners so it will be a considerable help for his right shoulder. Due to lack of strength in his right arm and shoulder, he is hoping of rain on Sunday.
On the other side, the rain will affect the testing and practice times as it has done in the past races. Considering the Dutch TT Assen event, every team was short of practice and could not come up with the required race package.
The Repsol Honda team is hard at work with its riders to make another strong mark in the 2011 MotoGP season.
