Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa fit for upcoming German Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has gained more fitness for the upcoming MotoGP event, the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland with a two-week inter-event break.
After resting for six weeks, Pedrosa came back at Mugello to resume his 2011 MotoGP season.
The Spanish rider was sidelined after a crash with Marco Simoncelli at the Le Mans circuit. Pedrosa received a fracture on his right collarbone which ruled him out of action for almost six weeks.
Pedrosa said, “The last race in Mugello was good because after a long time without racing, I saw that I haven't lost the ability to go fast. I have to regain fitness and this week I have worked hard. I've always had very good races at Sachsenring and it's
good to get to a track where you know you can do well.”
With his latest effort after comeback at the Italian Grand Prix, Pedrosa marked the sixth fastest lap time on the race day at the Tuscan circuit. Although the Spanish rider dropped to 14th place in the race after starting off from eighth place,
he pushed hard to settle for an eighth position at Mugello.
His other determined effort was seen at the post race official MotoGP test at Mugello. The session was held for the teams to test new components and settings developed. During the test, Pedrosa once again marked the sixth fastest lap time in the final time
sheets.
Recalling the 2010 German event, Pedrosa said, “Last year, we had a great race there and hopefully we can do a good job again during practices, hope nothing goes wrong and come out with a good chance for the race.”
In the 2010 MotoGP season, the Spanish rider won the German Grand Prix and scored a second place in the overall season point standings.
He is positive about the fact that he has not lost the pace even after a disastrous injury, a delayed recovery and absence in three crucial events. Let’s see how he fares in the upcoming event.
