Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa plans to recover during short summer break – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa is aiming to recover from the last marks of injuries during the summer break in the 2011 MotoGP season.
Pedrosa suffered injuries during his crash at the French GP held at the Le Mans circuit.
Pedrosa said, “My plan is to recover, because my muscles are very stiff, so I will try to rest a bit to allow them to relax. When I feel better, I intend to train in order to avoid feeling so weak in the second half of the races.”
The crash occurred between Dani Pedrosa and Marco Simoncelli of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team. The Spaniard sustained a fractured right collarbone in the crash, while Super Sic escaped the incident.
Following the French GP crash, the Spanish rider missed out on three rounds and also missed valuable points at Le Mans. His absence cost him to lose two places in the MotoGP championship standings. On his comeback to racing at Mugello, he was fifth on the
championship points’ table.
Although the Spaniard was hoping to score the title this season, but unfortunate accidents held him off from the title fight.
Earlier in the season, he went through a surgery on his left collarbone and won the Portuguese GP at Estoril upon his return. In his second comeback at Mugello, he won the race at Sachsenring.
He claims that his victories in this season hold a special feeling and blessed him with more confidence to fight for championship.
Pedrosa further said, “These victories have a very special taste indeed. Especially after the injuries I suffered, as I was never at 100%. These wins have given me a high level of confidence. My rivals are in full form, so I am eager to recover my form too
so that I can fight against them on equal terms.”
Pedrosa’s further aim is to improve his bike although the season is coming to an end but still some issues need to be sorted with his Factory Honda RC212V.
