Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa to race at Mugello after missing three events – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has announced his comeback to MotoGP for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix after missing three consecutive events in the ongoing 2011 season due to injury.
Pedrosa said, “I head to Italy with great motivation to be back on the bike, to see how I’m feeling and to compete. As well as riding again I’m really looking forward to getting back and seeing all the team, working with them and trying to do well. At the
end of the day we’re like a family.”
The Spaniard was missing the race in which he has competed with passion. Pedrosa has been fighting hard whether he had a surgery or faced any obstacle. He is desperate to get aboard his factory Honda RC212V at Mugello, Italy.
Pedrosa has missed three events in row since his accident at Le Mans. After the French GP, he sat back for Catalunya, Silverstone and Assen events. As a matter of fact, Pedrosa has missed four events with no points as he received a ‘did not finish’ status
at France after a crash with Marco Simoncelli.
The crash cost Pedrosa to halt his season proceedings with a fracture in his right collarbone. Before the French incident, he had just recovered from a surgery to fix his left subclavian artery. The artery was pressurised by titanium plates used to fix his
left collarbone that he fractured in the 2010 season.
The Spanish rider explained his physical status and said, “The truth is that it (collarbone) has improved a lot since I had the second operation. It seems we’ve solved the problem and the good feeling I had in the days following the operation confirmed that.
Now I need to see what I feel like when I’m on the bike during a race.”
Pedrosa faced a delay in his rehabilitation process after he received a minor complication during a physical exercise. His bone fragment was displaced and he needed another surgery to fit it back. He could have made his comeback at Netherlands but the problem
hampered his recovery.
Let’s see how he fares at Mugello, Italy this weekend.
