Repsol Honda’s Pedrosa, Stoner and Dovizioso dominate FP1, FP2 of Czech Republic GP – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda trio, Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso worked hard and dominated the first day of the race weekend at Brno, Czech Republic.
The Cardion AB Grand Prix will take place on August 14, 2011.
Pedrosa said, “The feeling was very good today from the beginning. The bike was working well from the first round and we could move ahead, improving little by little in both practice sessions.”
The Spanish rider was clearly dominant on the first day of the practice session. Pedrosa topped both practice sessions and was followed by Casey Stoner. He feels that he has gained strength during the summer break.
The gap has helped him a lot which he showed during the practice sessions. He hopes that he can keep up with the hard work on the following two days. Pedrosa and his team were content with the results achieved. He hopes to improve further for the race day.
Pedrosa is also conscious about the rival and expects that they will also try hard to hit the top.
The Aussie rider was fast but not fast enough to top the charts. However, he was searching to improve front end feel on his RCV.
Stoner said, “Today hasn't been that positive to be honest, we seem to be having a similar start to our weekend in Laguna and aren't sure which direction to take at the moment.”
The front feel was not up to the mark, as he was not having the exact feel that he required to be fast. The problem also hampered his cornering. The entry was feeless and it continued to the mid of the corner.
Stoner said that he needs to work a lot in terms to get the right feel out of his bike. He will be trying plenty of new things on both of his bikes to get the best possible set up for qualifier practice and race day.
On the other hand, Dovizioso said, “Today we struggled a lot with engine braking. This is a new engine brake that we used for the first time on Monday in Mugello after the Grand Prix, and that we have been using since.”
The Italian rider was also found struggling for the right setup, as he lost precious lap times during the runs.
