I have the vivicator and it is horrible for canned mealworms because it bounces off the mealworms out of the vibrating bowl. Since there is a nationwide shortage of mealworms, I decided to get the vivicator. For anyone that has experience with canned grasshoppers, whats the smallest size they have for grasshoppers? and can i feed my geckos grasshoppers as a staple diet?.

Anyone with the experience with the vivicator, my leopard geckos are afraid of the vibration..how do i get them to get used to it? and will crickets or grasshoppers bounce off the vivicator unlike the mealworms?

  1. Why do you need a Reptile Vivicator in the first place? Just put in the food, if it is things like crickets or grasshoppers don't leave them over night if they don't eat them within the first little while cause they will nibble at your gecko.

I've not heard to much about people feeding leopard geckos grasshoppers but I'm not an expert. What you want to do is feed them a variety of things so they can get all the nutrients, like crickets, mealworms, or silkworms. Plus of course dusting the crickets for extra calcium.

  2. trash the gimmicky canned feeders and only give live prey.i have kept a modest breeding colony of leopard geckos for 16 years now and produced many generations of baby's  on ONLY meal worms . now that speaks for it self.  grasshoppers are as good, but not nearly as economical as meal worms.
