Republic of Ireland striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 confirms he is close to Tottenham Hotspur exit
Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane revealed he was heading towards a White Hart Lane exit after rumours that the London side were looking to offload one of their existing forwards in the current transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp
seems to have an excess of strikers on his hand and is unable to keep them all happy.
The 31-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 international confirmed he would be leaving before the end of the summer transfer window and has been linked to a host of clubs, with just a few days until the new Premier League season kicks off. The English Premier League
opening fixture is scheduled to start this weekend, 13th of August.
Keane believed his future would be decided in the upcoming days, most likely before the upcoming weekend. However, the striker refused to mention the clubs he was currently in talks with, claiming he had not decided on his future as yet and was carefully
considering all his options before he made up his mind.
Keane said in an interview:
“There's obviously a lot of speculation but there's still a couple of weeks to go and we'll see what happens.
I haven't turned down anything. I think there's a few people talking to the clubs but that's all I can really say at the moment.”
It was rumoured that Keane was looking to move to another London club, but the striker dismissed his apparent preference to remain in London. Keane revealed he would be moving anywhere else in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 as long as he was guaranteed regular football, something
he was not getting at White Hart Lane.
He continued:
“I've never said that. I'm quite happy to go anywhere.
For me, it's just about playing regular football and if that's outside London I'm not too bothered.”
Keane failed to establish himself as a regular started in the Spurs squad last season and was loaned out to West Ham United in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season. He made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers and went
on to score two goals as West Ham were relegated at the end of the season.
The Irish forward confirmed he would not be moving to a Championship side, insisting he did not mean to be disrespectful. Keane revealed that while he had not received an offer from a Championship side, he was not willing to consider the Championship teams
if there was a possibility of moving to another Premier League outfit.
Keane said:
“Of course clubs have to agree a fee but, not being disrespectful at all to the Championship, if I got an option to play in the Premier League, I'm obviously going to take that.”
