Republican hypocrisy?

Republicans are all about less govt., right? Yet they are mostly pro-life too. If Roe v Wade were overturned, that would be more govt. interfering with peoples lives and taking away their freedom. More govt., less freedom.

Contradiction, no?

No, Only if you want it to be.

The American people are given opportunity to good education. The poor in this country live better than in most any country in the world. We have more freedoms than most people in the world. If you want to get ahead, you can get an education work hard, and live a great life.

Then there are the people that complain that there are no opportunities. And that the government should protect you from every little thing that can happen to you in your life. And that the government needs your money to fix all the problems. (The politicians get richer, the poor get poorer).

The Conservatives believe the government should stay out of your way to allow you to prosper and to not burden you with excessive taxes. In turn your prosperity will produce revenue to the government.

Then they believe in the protection of innocent life. The argument revolves around when do you consider life to begin.

Is it OK to abort a 10 year old child?

Is it OK to abort a 1 year old Child?

Is it OK to abort a child that lived through delivery that was to be aborted (left to die in a closet)?

Is it OK to abort a baby during delivery (partial birth abortion...sucking the brains out during delivery)

Is it OK to abort during the last trimester?

The argument comes down to when is it OK to abort. The Conservatives  choose to error on the side of caution...usually conception. I believe a large percent of them understand abortions for reasons such as the health of mother or other limited reasons.

Do you actually believe that a large portion of the population is so stupid as to not have a valid point of view? Could it be that they have a point of view that you do not yet fully understand?

Instead of being so polarized that one side runs to the completely against and the other runs to the completely for, we should try to understand both points of view and work for a solution.

This is why the whole government needs a turn over. Replace the whole Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government. They have become so partisan and so corrupt, that we need to start over. I believe the Declaration of Independence says that is our duty.  (search the word "duty" on the page below)

That's why Republicans are called neo conservatives.  They want less govt intervention on fiscal issues, BUT more govt intervention on social issues.  The truest conservatives are called libertarians.

Republicans are the party of big government now.

They do all the handouts of the OLD-Democratic party.....only they go to the corporations and wealthy, rather then the poor and working people.

Government grew faster in two years of Bush than it did in ALL 8 of ('liberal') Clinton.

They don't stop for a second .... listening to our phone calls, torturing people, invading other countries to protect corporate assets (Democrats used to start these wars....like Vietnam), trying to control abortion (which would require police officers in every OB/GYN visit and full government access to your medical records).

Not in the eyes of the pro-life crowd. Every aborted fetus, to them, is also a life that deserves protection under the law. They do have expert opinion (the Pope, for instance) on their side. It's fine to disagree, but you really shouldn't denigrate such a valid alternate position. Try disagreeing without being disagreeable, and I think you'll find yourself the happier for it.
