Republican voters may I ask?

I am not wanting to offend anyone in asking this question. I know its your choice who to vote for but here goes~~~

Why would you vote for a president who is only interested in helping people who make over 250,000 an year!? What is in it for you republicans that are struggling to make it every month? I can truly say I myself am having trouble understanding this. I work very hard to raise my girls and my husband works 6 days a week to try and keep us fed and clothed and we still cannot seem to make it! It seems to me that the energy plan that McCain Palin are wanting for us hasn't been working. Why do you still feel that we should stay in the same rut we are in?

  1. (this is not meant to be offensive)

First of all, you need to start thinking for yourself and stop listening to what the media tells you to think. I'm a college student, and I know that if I want something in my life, I have to go and earn it. You can't wait for the government to come and rescue you, because our government isn't designed to do that, and we shouldn't force it to be something that our founders didn't intend it to be. What exactly does Obama's energy plan call for? He wants to wait until we discover new ways of getting energy - that sounds really productive. Why not do what we know how to do until that time comes when we don't need oil? And btw, by helping big businesses grow, that helps create jobs, which helps the economy. McCain's plan is realistic and it will work. Obama wants to reward the people without jobs. How will that make the economy grow? It's time that Obama followers start to look at the facts and think about this country, and not about ourselves.

  2. WOW!  can you pick out the republicans in these answers?  I certainly can.   first off,  democrats are usually the middle class, the poor and disadvantaged.  the vast majority of those DO NOT want the government to raise our children.  we can do it ourselves thank you very much. BUT,  when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, everyone in the poorer category needs a little help.  consider this,  a young woman with children, single not by choice, going to school to get a better job and working two full or part time jobs,  with no extended family support.  what is she supposed to do about child care???????  she's not home with those kids in order to give them a better future.  how is she supposed to do that without a little help?  (when i say "not by choice"  i mean possibly the husband left and not in the picture, or passed away)

oh, and by the way... we've had a president for almost eight years now that is an alcoholic.  alcoholic or past drug user.  what's the difference?   I for one would rather have a president that worked his way through harvard than one who was "expected" to go to naval acadamy and because of his father's and grandfather's positions, got "friends" in washington dc.  watch his biography.  i would rather have a president who has worked the streets and helped out the downtrodden in chicago than a president that has never personnaly known any downtrodden people on a personal level.

  3. Choosing Obama/Biden isn't going to help you, there..

Do you realize that Clinton/Gore removed the Fed. MPG standards that were required on improving gas milieage AND allowed 11-mpg mega-ton SUVs on the roads (w/o truck licenses for their weight). You'd never hear that in Gore's slanted movie (we washed over his own record, in 2 secs!!).  You can't expect the oil-lobby lovin' Cheney/Bush to restore what the Clinton/Gore team did? You realize that Clinton was giddy over NAFTA.. which is where the manufacting jobs went (to China, Mexico, Canada, India, etc.).. and that Al Gore debated FOR the jobs leaving, defying what was called the "giant sucking sound" of jobs being vaccumed OUT of the USA? And taxes? even GWB gave back taxes -- that the Dems would never do.. and in fact, taxes always but always go up across income, business, etc. under programs that are paid for by you.

Do you realize the DEMS have controlled Congress for TWO YEARS now, and counting? can you name ANYthing they've done to help you -- all they do, is point fingers. That's it. For a living. Period. If you believe what CAN BE, then fine.. but, I'd like Obama to show me what he's accomplished & for Pelosi etc. to show me why they can't even BEGIN to do anything that the Party constantly just talks about.. (more fingerpointing? why's Pelosi in Syria? why isn't she reinforcing inner city education, or eliminating drugs, adding stiff penalties for illegals driving w/o licenses, and being here, etc. etc. remember ALL that nonsense????

Don't be fooled by these people, McCain is a WHOLE different person and has been ON the rearends of the GOP and DNC Establishments for decades (McCain-Feingold was subverted by PACs)... live and learn.

McCain's quip about the middle-class making "about $5mil" is used by Dems & the media (of course) without question -- but it was a JOKE because that's what OBAMA made, last year... at least what he reported. McCain doesn't make more than his salary (his wife has the $$$). McCain wanted to show the hypocrisy in Obama's camp trying to seem like an EveryMan when he made $5mil, last year. etc etc

  4. so what your saying is you cant raise your children so you want the government to help...do you think its the governments job to give you money...stop spending it then

and hes giving tax cuts to eveyone barack is raising taxes  on every buisness, so everything will cost more cmon

  5. My family  is middle class,  we are by no means wealthy, except in family and love.

I am not a Republican,  but I am Conservative,  so I do tend to vote more Republican than Democrat.

    I am Pro-Life and I oppose g*y unions.

That is why I am voting for the McCain/Palin ticket in Nov.

EDIT:  Everyone's cost of living has gone up,  not just yours.  I certainly don't expect the government to step in and help me out.  It's something we have to take care of ourselves by tightening our belts and cutting back on things we really don't need.

EDIT:  Crissa,  I don't question your reasons for voting for a candidate,  so I would appreciate your not questioning mine.

  6. Here's the deal. You don't get it. So pay attention.

You don't "help" people by buying their vote with a small check. You help them by growing the economy and creating jobs. People making 250K, which you see them as "the rich", are doctors, lawyers, small business owners; the people who hire people. If you raise their taxes, they have less money to give to their employees.

So when you tax the rich, you hurt the middle class. I know its beyond your ability to understand, but it is the simple truth.

  7. I hear you, i don't want republicans in the white house. all they care about is the rich people.

  8. Great question.  I'm not a republican, but I'd like to know too.

EDIT:  ROB-Republicans have had eight years to boost the economy and create jobs and they have yet to do so! Why don't you get it?

  9. im confused?  you say the energy plan McCain Palin are working for hasn't been working.... well... they aren't in office yet, and their plan has not been enforced...yet... so how can we say it isn't working lol your whole question is simply laughable, while it is true that McCain has voted roughly 90% the same as Bush, he is not Bush!

where do u get your facts? Barack Hussein Obama's economic plan raises taxes across the board... so how do you spin that into "McCain only wants to help people who make 250K a year"? I think you are having trouble understanding because you arent taking a step back and looking at the facts... for both sides of this election.  Look at the facts behind Obama and behind McCain, not what you hear in the media... for example... the US Weekly cover of Palin, based on rumor and lies, not fact!

  10. Lets see,

National Security - cant wait for that present vote

Energy - Independence beyond how to inflate my tires.

Pride - I have been proud of this country my entire life, not just the past five months

Qualifications - BO has done nothing, simply nothing.

Taxes - Yes, lower with McCain

Drugs - I dont believe we should have a cocaine user as President.

  11. I'll answer, but dyed-in-the-wool democrats will refuse to read.

McCain is a man of character who does not make his decisions based on pollsters or campaign managers.  He is honest and forthright and he is true to his heart and convictions, even if it means he loses votes and popularity.

Obama?  Well here is a man who defends his pastor until his pastor becomes a political liability.  Here is a man who makes a Black-racist church his family's church home until their teachings become public and it is no longer good for Obama's candidacy for him to be a member of Trinity Church.  Here is a man who says he can be a good citizen without wearing a flag pin, and then starts wearing one when it makes him look more Presidential.  Here is a man with no leadership experience, who is so scared of the opposition's VP Candidate that he offers his campaign experience as being on par with running a state with a $10 Billion budget, 24,000 employees, and two international borders (Russia and Canada).

I work hard!  I want the American dream.  I want what everyone else wants.  I want Mariage defended!  I want unborn citizens protected from murderers!  I want America to be stong throughout the world, both politically and in our military, and I want us to win the war on terror!

I want an American free from dependence on foreign energy sources.

Our country cannot survive with the kind of leadership Obama will provide.  He is a liability to civilization.

  12. I'm not offended by your question so please dont be offended by my answer.

Barack Obama is not giving you the whole truth.  He can not lower your taxes and strenthen government without sending us further into a hole.  He will either reneg his promises.  Raise your taxes or make inflation for the country worse.

I vote republican because I believe in political freedom from the government.  I may not be rich and things maybe harder for me but I am free and that is what is important.  I know that I can do anything I want and be anything I want.  I do not think it is fair that I should be forced to pay for more government, when I dont need it, or want it.  I believe that the country needs a change, but it does not come from Washington.  It comes from people.  People should step up to the plate and help their fellow man.  Government should not force it.  Government should remain as hands off as possible and be there simply to guide us and keep us safe from harm.

I guarantee you that there is no easy way out of where we are now.  No matter who you vote for, things will not magnificently be better.  But we the people have the potential to pull ourselves out of it.  The government is not a magic pill.

  13. i have been trying to get them to answer this forever. they wont.

omg this girl above mne is voting for them to deny people g*y rights?? while our economy and country is in this state, that is what is important to her????

  14. Note that these are all from my point of view based on my life experiences... and no I don't take offense to your genuine question.

    1) my husband and I will vote for McCain since we are afraid that with Obama defense spending will be non-existent thus he is out of a job (because he was just hired with a company that relies on federal spending for the improvement of military technology) and we will then only be living on my meager earnings all while trying to pay back our debts we accrued while in college...

    2) I don't feel safe having someone that is more willing to appease opposers than to do what is necessary.... It didn't work when the world tried to appease Hitler and Mussolini why should it work with those that are as bad or worse... :/

    3) If the "rich" are taxed to almost death then those companies that we rely on will be more inclined to move their production lines to another country... the company my husband works for has their assembly plants in canada... why? because it's cheaper... and also places like the town I am in that has a GM plant will die because that major source of income will close down...

    4) I like the stance of McCain/Palin that they would like to give us the right to make educational decisions for our children instead of forcing all of our children to conform to the same educational programs that have time and time again failed our children and our future.... it appalls me when a college student cannot tell the difference between New York and New Hampshire among other things..

And I know what it's like to look at the prices of bread and wonder if I could even afford that... it's the hazards of living on a tight college student budget... but if I can do it so can others..

  15. You have clearly drunk the kool aid.  I do not make anywhere near that kind of money.  How can you say McCain's plans "aren't working" when he hasn't implimented anything yet? Please do some reading on economics, I suggest "Economics In One Lesson" by Kenneth Hazlett.

  16. Most people still have hope that their lives will be better, when hope is lost you settle for what the Gov't throws at you.

  17. Dear mom...I'm 49 years old and a former Democrat. When I look at Senator Obama, I don't see change. His proposals are the same old Democrat boiler plate that I've heard most of my life. I've raised 2 kids, work shift work, and have lived pay check to paycheck, never topping 80,000 a year at any point in my life. The Dems have been in charge NUMEROUS times in my life, and Obama just proposes the same Democrat stuff from the 70's, 80,s and 90's. He doesn't bring change.

in fact, he's even MORE of the SAME than McCain is.

  18. We will not be in the same rut if McCain/Palin are elected.  They will 'push' not just wait for off shore oil drilling.

Obama's energy plan will bankrupt the U.S..  Alternative energy policies will cost way to much to implement and take hole.  Do you know that to have 20% of the U.S. power on windmill power it will cost 800 Billion dollars then on top of that you still have to build nuclear and coal fired plants so that when the wind doesn't blow you still have power.

Our country NEEDS oil its not an option.

  19. Raising taxes on the rich, but more importantly, ON BIG BUSINESS is not the answer.  Big businesses pass the tax burden directly to the CONSUMER with higher prices.  Then, when the higher-priced items don't sell anymore, the business outsources to an overseas market.  Yes, we are all struggling.  However, punishing our corporations is NOT the answer.  We can create jobs here; let's look into energy answers and create them there.

When my grandfather started his own business in the 1930's (yes DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION), he paid less than 10% in federal taxes and supported a family and sent his kids to college (one, an Ivy League school!).  If I decide to start a business, I get to send about 1/3 of my HARD EARNED money to the spend-happy, wasteful government.  What kind of incentive is that?

By the way, since my father-in-law was a heart surgeon, is he undeserving of his $300,000+ salary per year?  Is his work so meaningless that he should have to give half of his money to the government?  He was GIVEN NOTHING.  His family lost everything in the great depression.  Did he not earn his way through rigorous academics and HARD HARD WORK?  Why does his success (through talent and much hard work) entitle the government to redistribute his wealth?
