  1. actually i've known who she is for several years. She is an excellent choice!

  2. Nope.

For those complaining that this is pandering to female voters and/or Hillary supporters:  are you NEW to politics?  You all must be joking with this "despicable" stuff...where have you been?

  3. nope...

but then again I thought Kathleen Sebelius was more qualified than either Palin, Hillary or Obama this time last year...

  4. No.  I thought she was the best choice from the get go.  But she would contrast McCain's age, so I thought he wouldn't pick her for that reason.

Otherwise, she is a really bright star (to be kind, the only one on the Republican side) and very photogenic.  The press is going to eat this up.

Obama/Hillary would have been formidable, probably a lock for election.  Now McCain is breathing easier.

And McCain has given the press a really big gift.  Magazine covers, here she comes.

  5. no being that she gained notoriety from taking down the corrupt REPUBLICAN family of the Murkowskis in Alaska for their special deals with the oil companies in Alaska I knew she was a tough cookie and have been following her since.

  6. Well, I hadn't heard of her until now.  She seems to have accomplished a great deal for her time in office....and none of it speeches...all action.

    Politically it was great!

The vast majority of dems vote on emotion only...no facts at all.  They don't know anything.  Barack Obama is wonderful because, using a telepromper, he can sound articulate (he hasn't done anything except associate and be a part of Chicago Politics as well as having some "interesting" associations), very few dems know who Joe Biden is or was, they don't know who Nancy Pelosi is or Harry Reid.  They watch "Survivor" and "MTV."   They've no idea what their candidate stands for.

    She's perfect!

  7. NO! I am ecstatic! What a brilliant choice, and McCain takes back his Maverick title.

I saw Palin on several talk shows, taking on Liberals on the drill/ no drill debate, and she mopped the floor with them all! She left Alan Colmes muttering something like "but... but.. er... BUSH'S FAULT!", she was great.

    The race just got exciting!

EDIT/// I know you are kidding, pandering to the women... and the Obama/ Clinton "dream ticket" would be what? The very best the democrats have to offer? All those people that want to vote for Obama just because he is black, all those people that wanted Hillary just because she's a woman, and all those people refuse to address the issues in this election because of the gender or race, this is the biggest "up yours" McCain could pull off!

  8. the whole nation did.

she was a mayor of 800 people and a governor less than 2 years

Shoot our ex mayor Rudy Guiliani did more work than her in 5 hours than she did in her 2 years

  9. No.  I knew who was on his short list and took the time to look everyone up.  Needless to say, I'm very pleased with his selection.

  10. Yeah, kinda like I did back when I heard about this Obama guy who was running for the Dem nomination...

  11. I did not, I figured It would be a woman because McCain only chose her to pander to former Clinton supporters. That is all. McCain is using sexism and women to get votes. I doubt whether he even cares about Palin outside for what she can do for him to get elected.

It is low and despicable. Palin would never had been considered if Clinton didn't run.

Many governors had more experience and are more fit to lead.  Huckabee or Romney anyone?
