Republicans: Why is Palin a better vp choice than other candidates?

Admittedly, I know very little about her....but (1) she looks like TIna Fey to me, so maybe people will think she's smart and witty and (2).....

Well, there isn't any two.  She has yet to accomplish much of anything as governor, except that she has yet to be directly linked to any of the scores of scandals going on there.  She'd have to be really smart to stand up to BIden in a debate.  If somehow she weathers that, I'd be impressed.  But other than being a woman, and the insane Republican belief that most HIllary supporting women are stupid, I don't see it as a good selection.

She is not a better choice. She is a virtual unknown and she has barely begun to put in her dues compared to some hard hitting Republican women.  She is not Hillary when it comes to running with the big dogs ( Alaskan huskies aside).    And for once enjoy the spectacle of the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot.

Here, in my opinion, is what was the weakness with the other major candidates.

Romney:  I don't know that the Mormon issue would really be a factor.  However, we know that Huckabee doesn't like him and that could possibly lose him a lot of the Religious Right.

Huckabee:  He has the Religious Right, but his economic policies aren't too conservative.  McCain doesn't need somebody who isn't a strong fiscal conservative.

Bobby Jindal:  He was the best choice but he didn't want the job.

Pawlenty:  He was not well known and there really wasn't much of a guarantee that he could bring in Minnesota.  He is a solid pick but he really doesn't add anything to the ticket.

Kay Bailey Hutchison:  She would be an excellent pick but she also has received more money from big oil than anybody.  That's a really big negative.

Jeb Bush:  He'd be great but only if he changed his last name.

Condi Rice:  She didn't want the job.  Plus she's too closely associated with the Bush era.

Sarah Palin:  It's about the undecided middle of the road voters.  She won't sway anybody who is far left but those who are more centrist, the more they learn about her, the more they will like her. Plus, unlike Biden she's a Washington outsider.  That's change we can believe in.

She is not one of the Washington Millionaires at tax payer expense (Conressman). She is intelligent, articulate, and appears willing to fight for her beliefs and not flip-flop. Hence one son in Iraq, another with Down's Syndrome (they offer termination of pregnancies for that now). She seems like the type of VP this Country could be proud of. For ONCE they have chosen a woman who is human, not a hard-nosed beaurocrat. I was disappointed that all players were Senators, she adds hope for this election finally.
