Republicans: how will your party present itself at next week's convention; isn't the GOP in an odd spot...?

it will backfire if they rally as though they need to continue the policy of the last 8 years but it wouldn't be pc for the party to distance itself from Bush too much, so how does it navigate this issue next week?

I'm a Republican, but for now the party has lost its philosophy completely and I will be voting for Obama.  The Republicans are in deep trouble - they don't support balancing the budget, cutting the federal bureaucracy, states rights, individual liberty, keeping American soldiers available to defend America.  I could go on, but the Republican Party is essentially the party of name calling and angry rants.  It's embarrassing, and I hope Ronald Reagn is out there somewhere, shaking his head at how sad the party has become.

Show some strength if it has any. McCain has not showed leadership qualities. I hope Palin can give him some!!!
