Repubs using any excuse to distance themselves from McCain?

It's a shame to use a natural disaster for political reasons but it seems Bush and Cheney used Gustav to avoid the convention. The governator claims California is to broke for him to go but I'm sure he has enough money to pay himself.

Why are they dodging the convention?

And don't try to act like it's all out of concern for the hurricane victims. It's only a way to keep Bush/Cheney from being linked to McCain. They were going to give what, a 20 minute speech? Can't do that and go back to Washingtion and sit on their hands again?

  1. Bush spoke late night, dumbass.

  2. I thought the govenor of California forfeited his salary.  And California IS broke, you should take a look at the CA finanical statements.  It is pretty abysmal, but that is what CA gets for being one of the most liberal tax and spend states in the union.

As far as Bush goes, you know you liberal scumbags would have been b!tching about how insensitive the GOP would be if they performed business as usual so do the world a favor and lock it up!

  3. Nope. I am proud of McCain. He wouldn't be our candidate if we were ashamed of him... I see a lot of Democrats not too happy with Obama though.

  4. Bush and Cheney really did not want to interfere with the hurricane. There is a vast amount of security involved in their travel and it would get in the way of relief efforts. As far as "the Governator" is concerned, he is really not a Republican-he is a Dem, like his wife, in conservative clothes.

  5. Not just McCain ... but Bush too.. because McCain = the same as bush

  6. Oh yes. God forbid George W. Bush having to be in Washington to be able to make fast executive decisions regarding the Hurricane situation should keep him from the convention. Shame on Bush, and shame on Republicans for putting service before self.

  7. The "concern" with Gustav victims was no more than a publicity stunt

Like obama said.. Our government "sat on it's hands while a major american city flooded before our eyes"

They were ONLY trying to make themselves look better after the unbelievable mishandling of Katrina

  8. Do i have to spell it to u?  They r keeping the distance not bc of shame but for other reasons...Bush is still a favorite of his Party but not with the population, his rating drops so his present in RNC will not help J McCain, anymore questions?

  9. Republicans aren't distancing themselves from McCain.  Look at facts...McCain is at 90% Republican support.  Obama has 82% Democratic support.   Seems like the one having trouble with his party is not McCain.

And yes, Bush and Cheney did not show to the convention because Bush is still President and Cheney is still VP and those responsibilities come first.   Whether you like it or not, that's how it went.

  10. because they know McCain is old and smelly and does nasty things with Palin

  11. Seems to me you are tyring to make excuses because things didn't go the way you thought they should.
