I've studied abroad twice before and I love children. I'm about to graduate from college in May and i would LOVE to au pair for the summer in either Paris or the South of France (where i've lived previously.) But allllll of the sites i'm finding either want Euro or African girls to come to America to Au Pair. How can I (an American) become an au pair in France?! (frustrated) I do know what it entails, so don't give me the do's and dont's of "travel" or "childcare"... also, the higher paying, the better. i want to make more than $200 a week. thats like 2 and a half days pay!

thanks in advance. :-)

  1. Hi! I think its getting more difficult to get a job in Europe for non-EU citizens as there are lots of EU citizens available to do the same jobs. A friend of mine (from Poland) travelled around Europe as an Au Pair, but only dealt with German agencies. I used the search engine and found a few agencies like this one http://www.frenchamericancenter.com/engl...

You may have looked at this one already. Another option is to contact the French Embassy in your home country to see if they are able to give you information on ensuring the agencies you use are reputable. It also doesn't hurt to apply for jobs where the advert states only European or African girls. You might luck out by your determination.

    Good luck!
