  1. It was disturbing. Its also probably the saddest movie ive ever seen.

  2. I loved the movie--it's in my top five favorites.

I wouldn't call the plot disturbing--just very, very realistic, and very, very sad.  However some of the scenes were sexually grotesque, but that didn't really bother me.

I think they should show this film in high school because I truly believe that the story was horrifyingly depressing enough so that the students won't give drugs a second thought.

And the theme song--"Lux Aeterna"--is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

I bawled like a baby through the last half of the movie.

  3. It does have its disturbing images, but have to say that it's a great and effective way to send out the message of the consequences drugs leave in your life.

  4. It's not disturbing at all, I don't know what people get that idea from.

I own it, and I love it.

  5. This is one of the most fantastic films ever. Aronofsky is amazing. You should really read the book, written by Hubert Selby Jr. anyone who liked the film anyways.

Ok, so to answer. I obviously enjoyed it immensely. Most people would probably say that its a story of how detrimental drug abuse can be.... Now, that is most definitely true that drugs can be destructive.... But what I believe the message in this film to be is pretty simple... Dreams can be beautiful and destructive. Each one of the characters had his/her own dreams and those dreams are what gave them hope, drive and the desire to live, but it was also those dreams that led to the downward spiraling behavior and drug abuse.

I thought the most moving part was when Jennifer Connelly was... well lets see, I can't remember if she was stripping or actually prostituting (it has been too long since I've seen this, I think you've inspired me to go home from work tonight and watch it again!) but that part of the movie is what always stuck with me... the look on her face... the hopelessness of it all, and yet that she still was holding onto her love for Harry.

Ellen Burstyn gives a fantastic performance.

  6. Sick in terms of sexual situations and graphic visuals? Yes, of course. Sick in terms of the plot and the story itself? Not at all. Excellent movie.

  7. First time I saw it, I cried so much. And I was so pissed off his girlfriend didn't go back to him.

    WHO COULD LEAVE JARED LETO?

    Seriously?!

I love this movie though. One of the best drug movies I've ever watched.

The s*x scenes and stuff don't bother me. I giggled though the girls butt ******* each other.
