when you land in Frankfurt, follow the train sign (it's a picture of a train!) when you get downstairs go to the ticket counter expect to pay about 30-50 Euro.

its not hard, all the signs in the airport and train station are set up for tourists

Following the signs is a bit misleading. The train station is in an airport Annex, so you can cross the street from the main terminal when you see the sign, of take the underground tunnel. Once in the building, you head down a hallway, then you will see the train station waiting room. Down the stairs are the trains, and it is 'outside' so cold or hot depending on when you will be there. Buy online before you go and save money. You can buy German train tickets online at http://www.bahn.de/ and print out your train ticket. Then when you get there you will just have to hop on the train and wont' have to wait in line to get a ticket. The trip is about 50 minutes and costs between 30-70 EUR, depending on availability of cheap tickets purchased in advance.

There are 2 train stations at Frankfurt Flughafen/airport - Regionalbahnhof(for local trains) and the Fernbahnhof(for long distance trains. which is about a 15 minute walk from Terminal 1).

If you take the 2hour train, 2nd class fare = €39

If you take the ~55minute train, 2nd class fare  = €53

If you take a train that runs through Mainz and Koblenz, you will get to see the scenic part of the Middle Rhine valley with it's vineyards, hills, valleys, castle ruins, and many riverside villages.

You can purchase your ticket at Frankfurt airport.  You will want to take a train from the Fernbahnhof station.  You can look up the timetables at the German rail website above and use Frankfurt Flughafen for the aiport and you will want to choose "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf" for the departure station.
