Cannot find the required size of lower and upper storey common studs (90/100) spaced at 450mm centre, 2400mm wall height.

Also, need to know sizes of verandah beams, posts and rafters for pergola.

  1. Well, I don't know if this will help you but this is what my Dad taught me about building walls. In wood  framed houses, exterior walls are normally built using 2x4 studs that are nailed 16 inches on the center of them up to the top plate, and also 16 inches on the center to the bottom plates. Also if they are exterior walls they will carry most of the structural weight so you double the top wall plates. If you plan on using really thick insulation, then you can use 2x6's to allow for the extra thickness. Sorry, but I don't know what a pergola is,or I would try to help you with that. Byee

  2. Most timber suppliers will have span tables, and will be able to help you out with the required sizes.
