What are the requirements to be a director of nursing? Educational requirements? Experience requirements?

  1. Usually you need at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a preference toward Masters of Science. If you want to be a DON at a hospital type setting, you probably need a Masters in Healthcare administration/ or an MBA. You also need some experience as a nurse.  Begin with your RN, bridge to a MSN or an online MBA. Good luck!
