  1. Each college has its own admission process. The best thing to do is research the particularly colleges in which you are interested. Many require SAT scores, GPA of B or higher, and a short essay. Some require recommendation letters. There is no one general rule for all US colleges. You'll need to research them separately.

  2. Most of your college questions can be answered at these two very helpful websites:

    www.collegeboard.com www.princetonreview.com

  3. Usually, most colleges in the United States require an SAT or an ACT score (or both). Depending on the college, certain minimum scores are required. (ex - Univ. of Florida requires at least a 1270 SAT). I am not famialar with the GCE, so I am assuming it is not an acceptable admission criteria to determine acceptance. You more than likely will have to take the SAT or the ACT to meet admission requirements, as most admission applications are filled out online and no spot is allotted for the GCE. Good Luck!

  4. Every institution as their own requirements which international students need to meet before they can be accepted for admission, you should visit the website of your chosen school and there you will find all the information you need.

In general, international students wishing to apply for admission into a U.S. college or university need to provide the following evidence:

    - They have graduated high school

    - SAT I scores* - in addition to this, competitive institutions will also require applicants to take the SAT II: Subject Test

    - Financial documentation to show that you can afford the tuition costs and living expenses.

    - TOEFL scores will also be required if you are not a national of a country where English is the first language.

*The only schools which will not require SAT scores for admission are Community Colleges, these are two-year schools and the highest level of education which can be achieved is an Associates degree. However it is possible for students to complete those two-years and then transfer to a 4-year State or Metropolitan college/university for a further two years to gain their Bachelors degree.
