I'm working on my BSN but I wan't to continue on and get my master's. I'm thinking about either being an FNP or DON. what are the educational requirements to be a nursing director? what are the experience requirements? is it easy to get a job in L.A. as a nursing director?

  1. Generally you need a number of years of experience, and there is a "work up the ranks" system in many hospitals.  However, more nurses are getting a masters degree in healthcare administration with an emphasis on nursing in order to get the best jobs.  I would finish your BSN, get a good entry position and work for 1-3 years and then determine what kind of masters degree you need.
