Requirements for teaching art classes?

I am thinking about offering to teach art classes and I wondered if there are any requirements necessary? Licensing, etc?

If you are teaching in the public school system, you need teacher certification. This involves education courses, courses in what you are planning to teach, student teaching, and passing teacher tests. You can find more info on your state's dept of ed website about what exactly is required (it depends on the state).

If you are teaching them somewhere else (at summer camp, a private art program, etc) you don't usually need teacher certification, though it could help you do a better job. You'll need to be good at art yourself and have some experience working with the the age group you'll be teaching.
