I have relocated from Florida and have all Florida requirements. Does anyone know if there are unique requirements to teach preschool in Missouri?

I have a degree but many states seem to be more interested in those silly little classes like "intro to childcare" and so on which are unique state to state.

Anyone here teach preschool in Missouri who could tell me more?

Thanks.

  1. As of 5 years ago (last time i worked in the state of missouri) the teachers did not have to have a CDA.  Only Directors are required.  However, many schools that are looking to get a grant from the state often require that you have a CDA.  I went to school in California for ECE.  Which takes the same amount of time.  So, they considered me to have what Missouri calls the CDA.  I have 27 ECE units.  I don't know if this helps or not.  But, as far as I know as long as you're not wanting to work for the state you do not need the degree.  It's difficult to transfer credits to Missouri.  Good Luck.
