  1. Email a teachers' college or University and ask about it. They have certain requirements but from what I have seen in my friends who did a degree in teaching, it's rather complicated to be primary school teacher. While the requirements are very general you will have to do dancing, singing, sport, child psychology and teaching methods at University. You don't actually have to do University level mathematics, sciences and English, ... to teach at primary schools. You will be doing them at first year or second year level only to fill up the total number of credit points to pass the University course. Therefore the choice is wide open.

I think the main thing is to get decent marks in your HSC. Then the next thing is to access your own temper. You need to like kids and be quite patient to them. You need to be able to laugh and sing. You must not be racist. You need to firm and kind at the same time (not easy). It's mainly your values that really matter.

  2. well you got a long way to go, im a year older but yhea i know alot first youll need passes in english, maths. youll have to pass them, and then see if your school will have children studies and youll need to know first aid. but form there yea just pass them ubjects and go to tafe or uni or i would go to tafe takes quicker cheaper and ull get hand on practice.

  3. I'm assuming that you live out of the U.S. since you are using the term "Kindy" and I'm going to assume you mean Kindergarten teacher.  In the U.S., most Kindergarten teachers are required to have their teaching certificate, bacherlor's degree...with an early childhood endorsement.  To get into the college of education you need to keep a certain GPA...so keep up on your studies!  It's beneficial to have CPR and First Aid but I don't think it's a requirement...as food and nutritional knowledge.  Your best bet to to contact a teacher's college and ask them...acutally if you are in grade 10...why don't you ask your school counselor...that's one of their jobs :-).  Good luck!  Good for you to be thinking about it now.  Consider getting a job or volunteering in a day care/preschool/early childhood center etc. for experience.  When I was in High School I actually went to the elementary school for the last two hours of the day, for credit.  What an awesome experience!  Good luck.
