If you come out of the coast guard as a rescue swimmer , are there any civilian jobs that might entail some of the same type of rescue work?

  1. There aren't really any 'full-time' jobs of that type, though you may pick-up a few very short jobs on film sets or at watersports events, sailing, windsurfing etc.

  2. If you were a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, then I thank you for your service. I know how hard it is to become a rescue swimmer. You might want to try to find professional lifeguard associations. For instance, Hawaii has professional lifeguards. They are not seasonal, they are professionals who work full-time, year-round. You'll never have to jump into really cold water again!
