Question:

Rescued Kitten Need Advice, Kansas City, MO North?

A car dropped off on the road a very small kitten next to my office. It was

found by some developmentally disabled residents. It looked as though it needed

some attention. I picked up some cat food and brought it home. I gave it a

bath and picked off the ticks and what ever else I found on it.

Here is the problem. I am a single father of 2 kids. I have had a lot of

expenses these last few months and I do not currently have the funds to keep an

animal. My work schedule has me gone for 2-3 days on the weekend and most

importantly, my son is ill and the cat makes his breathing worse. As much as I

will hate to I will have to give the cat up. What can I do? As I said I am

very short on money and need somewhere to take it wihere I will know it will be

taken care of.

  1. You can put a flier at veterinary offices, look for a cat rescue group in the phone book, or try on-line at a variety of sites - including 'freecycling' - they go by county.  I assume you have them - we have them here in Jersey - it is an on-line list for people to give away stuff they don't need anymore, for free.  I have seen kittens listed on ours every once in a while.  Word of mouth is good as well.  Just keep asking everyone.  Good luck!!!

  2. Your best bet for a safe home is to contact the humane society or a local shelter. Let them know how you found the kitten and they should be able to help you.

  3. If I was you I would take it to the Cat Rescue or RSPCA, they will make sure the cat is well enough to be housed with a nice family.

They shouldnt charge you for dropping it off with them either, it is what they are there for.

    Hope this helps
