  1. I've had the same thing happen. Here's what I did.

Put the bird in a box lined with a soft towel so its away from danger - the cat might return. Put it under a strong lamp to keep it warm. You could try giving it damp porridge oats - it is similar to the food its mum provides. If he is still alive tomoro then call the rspca who will come and collect him.

This is really common and thank goodness my bird pulled through. Well done for trying to help and best of luck. Let me know how he gets on!

  2. Keep it in a safe place from the cat and give it water and insects and bird seed

  3. First do what Jane C said, keep it warm... This bird has been attacked by a cat and will have no chance for survival without antibiotics. Cats and dogs carry disease in their saliva that is a deadly poison to birds. Maybe you can find a vet in the area. I have raise and released baby birds and have gotten all my info from starlingtalk.net.  There is a forum there full of wonderful, caring people that would help you.....

  4. Contact vet, RSPCA or RSPB.

  5. You should have left it, atleast the cat would have killed it, and the poor thing is more likely in shock and suffering a slow death.

  6. You can't do anything - the RSPCA won't want to know - they don't deal with that sort of thing!

Just move it out of the cat's way and let it get on with it!

  7. God bless you for trying you kind person. There is always a chance you can save it if you put it in a dark warm place to calm down after it,s trauma then try later to feed it.
