" are children more smarter (or more socialized) because of the internet?"

yes.  All kids should have a computer.  So it will make them smarter by doing research but still having school as we play online games becuase they somewhat have some information in them that will be useful later.  Maybe not more socialized becuase it may jsut make them more immature by havinyg some kids 'drain" their minds playing and just throwing away their life.  But it is nice to have to do resaerch so i say yes.  but the internet is not the main reason.  plus computer programs might help too.  so thats the down side.  computer programs may have to help too, so main reason is maybe but i say yes as my final answer.
