Research paper help please, science majors.....plzzzzzzzzz?

i am suppose to do a research paper on lake Michigan. anything relating to lake Michigan so i found "Lake Michigan Mass Balance " very interesting so the question is what exactly am i doing. what should the research paper question topic be like should it ask 4 a question or simple it should be like ..."Lake Michigan Mass Balance" any help plz im a freshman at a univ. plzzzzzzzzzzz

Well the only advice I can give you is to research research research.  What your doing is basically what I reporter does.  Find he facts and present them.  If your unclear on what the professor wants then ask him NOW.  If he doesn't give many details then use that as your liberty to write it how you want it.
