i must write a research paper on environmentalism, but i don't know where to start writing or where to focus. i will appreciate any suggestions

It takes many pounds of grain or other feed to produce a pound of meat. We could feed the world today if existing plant-based foods were eaten by people directly rather than channeled through livestock to produce a small amount of food to be consumed by relatively affluent people.

Animal-based foods are the least cost-effective foods. They require more land, water, and energy per unit of protein than plant-based foods. Therefore, producing animal-based foods wastes resources that could be used to feed a greater number of people a healthful plant-based diet.

World hunger exists today largely because traditional means of growing food to be consumed locally were displaced by cash-crop agriculture promoted by colonial powers. Producion of cash crops for export leaves local people vulnerable to the ups and downs of international food markets. When the price of the cash crop drops, the people no longer have money to buy food. The solution is to return to sustainable cultivation of traditional food plants for local and regional consumption. This cannot occur if land and resources are devoted to intensive animal agriculture operations.
