Iam doing a research paper about water conservation linked to a natural disaster.

the topic I chose was wild fires connected to water conservation. the problem is i have to write 15 pages on this topic and cant find any information. does any one have any good sources for my topic? i need help badly.

  1. I think you picked to hard of a subject. I advise sticking to wildfires you right a paper on new and improved ways to fight wild fires


  2. Destruction of the leaf litter and organic components of the soil means that what had been forest can no longer act as a sponge to take up excess water and release it in times of drought, keeping the streams running. Perhaps you could approach the problem from that angle.

  3. You might want to talk about infiltration of water. The topic you mentioned is very broad.  Water especially in So. Cal is a problem and the reason that cities like LA are so dry is because we have prevented water from being absorbed by the ground because of all the cement that causes the water to just slide down and head straight to the drain. Because there is more cement than vegetation, water is being lost and is not peculating into the ground.  You can try looking at a city that is less developed (i.e less cement and more fields ect.) but has the same climate and fire susceptibility  and see if there is a big difference in wild fire occurences. This is what your question brought to my mind hopefully you find some of this useful for your research . :)
