Reserved hotel online?

I reserved a hotel through www.choicehotels.com and when I checked my account of course it showed it had been charged. Now a month later I checked my account again and the $112 is back in there. I'm getting frustrated because it says the hotel is reserved but if it isn't payed for how is it reserved? I will have more info in just a minute.

Use directory assistance to get the hotel's 800 number and call and ask them what's the deal?

You reserved the room. Did you stay?  Was that a temporarily authorization or they actually took the money out of your account?.

1- If you stayed and they charged on your card. It's legitimate

2- If you didn't stay and the charge is temporarily authorized, that doesn't mean they will charge on your acct. Authorization will drop in couple days.

3- If you decide to pay by cash, or check. That temporarily will stay on until to checkout. They want to make sure that you didn't trash the place or eat the $5 peanuts that they left in the frig.

4- If  you haven't stayed, they will not charge until you actually stayed and left.

5- Check to make sure that the credit card company hasn't paid them yet. If that charge went through your debit card at the bank, you can check that on your online banking.
