Reset a camcorder

Question

i have a grdf430u that the iris sticks shut on. i usually open it up and unstick it, close it up and it works fine. This last time it does not power up at all. Is there a way to "reset" the camcorder? Could it be the lithium battery inside of it is dead?Mike
