I'm about to enter college this Fall and want to get into medical school after finishing college. There is a medical school nearby that offers a dual degree program that interests me (a four year MD/MPH program) and so I have up to that much covered. What happens next exactly after I graduate from medical school? I know I have to join a residency program yet can someone explain that process to me, I hope to become a psychiatrist one day. What exactly is a residency? What will I be doing during that time?

Will I be able to get my Masters in Biology during that time or what type of schedule will I have to endure? Thank you very much, any information is greatly appreciated.
