Resident Evil 6 trailer confuses everyone, is it a fake?
The gaming world is embroiled in chaos and there is confusion everywhere, experts are scratching their heads and gamers just do not know what to believe. All of this may be a slight exaggeration but in short, everyone is confused as to whether or not the
Resident Evil 6 trailer which hit the internet is real or fake.
The nine-second trailer does not reveal much, apart from a Capcom logo, a few lines of text, a Biohazard 6 logo, a split second splice of what seems to be either a city or a factory, and coordinates to a location.
The issue is that it does not give enough away whether or not it can be validated as the real deal or another excellent fan made trailer.
However, it was apparently confirmed earlier that the trailer, which was rumoured to be shown back stage in an exclusive showing at the Tokyo Game Show, was in fact real.
At the same time however, Capcom USA, the Japanese company’s American branch gave everyone the “could not comment on rumours or speculation” story. The line is usually used when something is true but cannot be officially backed up.
This however, begs another question, if it has been confirmed by Capcom then why its American extension is not as open in confirming the news is a bit of a mystery. Surely they have to be on the same page.
So as you can see, gamers and everyone concerned in the industry have good reason to be confused and without any further clarification it seems that the gaming community should take the trailer with a bit of salt for the time being at least.
If one were to believe the trailer however, the world has apparently been taken over by Bio-organic weapons, much like the previous two Resident Evil films (Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil: Afterlife).
Also with Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City still under development, it does seem a tad premature for Capcom to be announcing another Resi title.
The one bit of news that we can confirm however, is that the next instalment in the core Resident Evil franchise “will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level.” That is according to Masachika Kawata, Capcom’s producer.
Other ‘mysterious’ sources have also hinted that the game will be the most “gruesome” game in the series.
Either way, this confusion may just end up working very well for Capcom, as there is no such thing as bad publicity. The gaming world, on the other hand, will probably be praying that the trailer is in fact real and that they more on Resident Evil 6 in the
days to come.
