Software entries for the Nintendo 3DS are picking up pace as demos for both Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater have been confirmed.
Nintendo had to make a number of drastic changes during the 3DS’s launch period as the portable gaming console got off to a disastrous start. A price cut, sales reforecast and pay cut for executives later, the 3DS went on to become the best selling console
of 2011.
However, the one thing analysts were unanimous in stating was that the 3DS needed strong software support if it was to continue on this new found successful trend. Luckily it has two demos for two of the video gaming world’s biggest franchises on their way.
Capcom have confirmed that gamers can download the demo for the latest foray in the Resident Evil universe, Revelations, tomorrow on their Nintendo 3DS-es. Available for download via the eShop gamers can also download Cooking Mama 4, though personally unless
the 3DS can make the food cooked in the game appear in real life, we would stay away from torturing ourselves.
As for other titles, Nintendo have announced that demos will be added to their eShop periodically with regular updates bringing making the latest demos available for download for gamers.
One of those games, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D has been confirmed for demo release on the 8th of March, which is sure to get more than just a few downloads when it is made available. Other games that will also have their demos added to the
roster are Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Nintendo also outlined a policy which it claims will help publishers and developers limit the amount of times a player can replay a certain demo or as Mr. Satoru Iwata put it, “for which they can put a limit of the number of trails.”
Of course no statement is complete without a bit of marketing as he continued the eShop will have demos of games that have already been released which is, “a feature a number of software creators have been looking forward to”.
