Resistance 3 blasts the competition away on the PlayStation 3 Charts
AAA titles have plenty to live up to, especially with the marketing and promotion which surrounds them, as well as the unbelievable amount of hype which continues to build until the game’s release.
So with two games debuting in the same week; Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3 and THQ’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, it would be interesting to see how both the games fared.
Starting off at the bottom of the pile and still spilling blood and finishing opponents off in the goriest ways imaginable in Warner Bros. Interactive’s Mortal Kombat. Number 10 at this point in its lifecycle is impressive and it would not be a surprise
if one saw it in the charts next week as well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is still managing to sneak in a fair amount of sales as it lands on the number 9 spot. It seems the all zombie Rezurrection DLC is doing the trick and enticing gamers to repurchase the first person shooter.
With the cold English winter approaching, it seems that the great people of the United Kingdom are mentally preparing themselves for some of the activities which can only be truly enjoyed in winters, as NHL 12 comes in at number 8.
Sticking to American sports, and it seems that the UK’s love for physical contact sports is strong, as Madden NFL 12 manages to steal an extra yard on its ice hockey cousin and finishes one spot above it at number 7.
Keeping things physical is 505 Games and their alternative to American Football, Rugby World Cup 2011. Expect the title to stay in the charts for a few more weeks to come.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution begins its slip down the charts as all of its augmentations cannot stop it from crashing into the number 5 spot. Having said that though, it did have another week of impressive sales.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine continues its impressive debut in all the major charts for the previous week as it lands itself in at number 4.
However, it seems PlayStation 3 users prefer the streets of San Francisco as Driver: San Francisco maintains its Top 3 position, albeit, by the narrowest of margins.
Dead Island continues its devastating form, not just on the PlayStation 3, but the Xbox 360 and PCs as well, as it comes in at number 2.
However, the week, and one can expect a few coming weeks as well, belong to Joseph Capelli and his fight for survival in Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3.
The ending to the trilogy has received critical acclaim and rave reviews across the board, which is making both Sony and Insomniac games very, very happy at the moment.
