Resonance occurs when...?

a- any constructive interference occurs

b- any destructive interference occurs

c- a standing wave is created

d- no nodes are formed

i really need help so if u can atleast help me narrow it down that would be great.

  1. Yes, resonance occurs when a standing wave is formed. The reason is that the vibrating object is vibrating at the same frequency as the resonant tone, and so the tone keeps adding to the energy in the vibrating object. It is like if you give a pendulum a regular tap in the right direction: you couuld think of it as if the pendulum were resonating to your tap. Each strike adds a bit more energy to the swings of the pendulum. Just as each sound wave adds energy to the standing wave in the resonant object.
