  1. The Riu Cancun offers many tours at a great price.

  2. I often shy away from picking my resort based on tour prices. This is because if you shop around a bit, you will find great prices, in advance, and from great local companies that offer more. When I say more I am referring to cancelation and rescheduling policies, something that is not offered when booking at or through travel agencies based out of the resorts. Just read the fine print, but know that you should certainly be able to find a great resort and match up a great tour package for less. I recommend you start by looking at the options available here:

  3. We really like the Palace Resorts.

Moon Palace is a wonderful resort and they sometimes include free excursions. Check out the website.

Have a great time and enjoy it all)

  4. I just came back from a week-long all-inclusive stay at Moon Palace on Sunday. It was fantastic. They include two trips with your stay for free, and of those trips...Tulum and Chichen Itza are two of the options..some of my group went to both and said they were fantastic..although they said the Chichen Itza tour took all day (which is why I chose not to do that tour). Anyway Moon Palace I think runs around (our trip was free) $400 USD per night for two...but it's all inclusive (food, drinks, alchohol too), with included tours..and the place is BEAUTIFUL and HUGE...jacuzzi tubs in each room facing the balcony with a hammock..it's excellent. Well worth it and I highly recommend it...my gf and I are already trying to figure out how we can plan a trip back.

  5. You don't need to get a package through your resort.  In the Playa del Carmen/Cancun area there are people selling tours on buses at every street corner.  They are all basically the same and if you purchase a tour from one of them you can get a lower price, if you feel comfortable haggling.  I recommend the tour of Tulum over Chitchen Itza.  They are both impressive and beautiful, but Tulum is right on the ocean.  It is closer to town so it doesn't take a whole day.  When we went to Chitchen Itza it took all day and it was so hot and dusty and I just kept wishing I was on the beach relaxing!

  6. Greetings from sunny Cancun!

All resorts offer tours...but when my family and friends come down to visit they always use:

Best prices, friendly, knowledgeable, English speaking staff.

My favorite resorts are the Palace Resorts- stay at one and via a free shuttle visit and play at the others.
