Question:

Resource education in Massachusetts?

In California we have a program in public education called "Resource". It is for Children who do not need to be in a special education class for learning handicaps but have a hard time learning in one or two subjects. The children would leave the class room for short periods of time each day to receive one to one instruction with a Resource teacher and get extra help for the particular subject in which they are struggling. Does Massachusetts have a similar program? If so what is it called?

  1. every public system must have some sort of resource education.  it is technically special education, but not in the self contained setting that most people think of when they hear "special ed".  what it's called depends on the district, but most call it resource, pull-out, or something of the sorts.
