Respect Yuvraj's privacy, BCCI pleads with the media

board assured that it would issue regular health updates on the player.
The 30-year-old stylish left-handed batsman from Chandigarh was last week diagnosed with a grade one lung cancer and is undergoing Chemotherapy at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, United States. This was confirmed by his physiotherapist, Dr Jatin
Chaudhary on Sunday.
The left-hander was diagnosed with a lung tumour in October last year. The tumour was initially assumed to be non-malignant and it was being speculated that after undergoing the necessary treatment, the stylish http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 cricketer would soon be back on the
field. Last week, Yuvi flew to the United States for an expert opinion and advanced treatment, after they failed to get it cured.
Wishing the promising all-rounder a speedy recovery, the BCCI Secretary http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-Madansingh-Jagdale-c88599 said that the board was in touch with Yuvraj’s family and will also keep updating the fans, regarding the health of their beloved cricketer.
"Yuvraj Singh is presently undergoing treatment for his medical condition. The BCCI wishes him a speedy recovery," said BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale in a statement on Monday.
"The BCCI is in touch with Yuvraj's family members. They have been inundated with calls from the media over the past few days. His family values the affection and concern the media has for Yuvraj. The Board would like to appeal to the media to respect the
privacy of Yuvraj and his family members, at this critical juncture," he added further.
Yuvraj, a stylish middle order batsman and a handy left-arm spinner, was last year adjudged the Man of the Series in the World Cup for his stupendous all-round performances which saw him compile a tally of 362 runs and claim 15 wickets.
The all-rounder has not played an international match since October last year, when he was diagnosed with a lung tumour. Last week, it was reported that the left-hander is unlikely to make a comeback to competitive cricket before August this year. However,
Yuvraj’s physio is hopeful that he will be completely fit by the end of March and after undergoing a rehab session in April he would be back on the field in May this year.
