Respected Sir / Mam, I need to know how many days does it take to get the address changed on the passport?

I need to know how many days does it take to get the address changed on the passport? Is there a Tatkal scheme for the same?

Also, I do not have any proof for that address, just the proof that the house belongs to my mother who stays there. Can her address proofs serve as mine, if i get it in writing that I am her daughter?

I am currently staying in Mumbai and shifting to Kolkata in March, so if I get my Standard Chartered / HDFC Bank account address changed to my Kolkata address, will it serve as a valid address proof, by itself.

none of them will serve the purpose.since the address to be verified by police,there fore get shifted to kolkata first,cancel ur name on mun\mabai ration crd get new ration card at kolkata,or voter card then from kolkata u cat get adress changed.

it may take months since it s to be verified by police there.

If you are a us citizen no need to change it.

I moved from NJ to the west coast. My congressman told me you can keep the old address. As he said why pay for a new one when you can continue to use with the old address.
