my experirent involes a mung bean, what is a realistic respiratory quotient to expect when doing a repiration experiment?? how to do predict a respiraotory quotient?? what is considered a high/low value??

  1. The RQ is measured by CO2 expired divided by O2 consumed.

    Do you know what the Mug bean uses for respiration, if you do then you can guess the RQ.

    Carbs/Glucose = 1

    Proteins = 0.8-0.9

    Fats = 0.7
