Response to receiver help

We don't have an authorized service center nearby, but there is an authorized dealer. Maybe they would help me and use one of their remotes. I know this sounds stupid, but should there be a light on the top of the remote so that I know if there is any power? I'm assuming so because there is a small buld there. I've tried numerous new batteries and it still isn't working. Without the remote I can't enter the code just like you said.I appreciate your help. I looked over all 57 pages of the help you've given people and saw how many times you've answered the same question about the code. You must have the patience of a saint to keep repeating the instructions!
