Okay, I babysit 4 of my brothers and sisters age (9, 6, 4, and 2)Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00-3:00 while my mom works. The babys (2 month old twins) go stay with my grandma or aunt.

My sisters (9 and 6) get "Summer Math Packet" and a reading log from school for over the summer. My mom decided that should would make my 4 year old brother a "Summer Math Packet" and reading log. We offically made the time when we do this work 12:15-12:45. because my 2 year old brother takes a nap at 12:00.

After we do our learning for the day, I have everyone go lay in there beds until 1. Usually when I go in there to get them up, they are sleeping. My question is, should I continue to have them do this? I discovered it caused less fights and time-outs. And as far as going to bed at regular time, so far so good.

  1. a 9 yr old should not be having a day nap. it will interfere with his night sleep

  2. yes. They need their rest time anyways. No matter how old

  3. if it isn't interfering with anything else...than stick with it

  4. I wouldn't make a 9 yr old nap but there is nothing wrong with doing quiet activities while the others sleep.  He could read, watch t.v./movie quietly, use the computer, do a puzzle, build a model or anything else that he likes to do.
