There are many good places to dine depending on your preference of cuisine. I would recommend you to explore the areas near NYU (Cooper Square) If you continue heading East, you'll hit from Japanese venues such as Men Kui Tei (great ramen) to Frank's Italian restaurant. You should consider checking out yelp.com and search the East Village section for more selections.

P.S. If you are looking for some excellent after dinner desserts, I recommend you checking out the various trucks that serve gourmet foods. (The Waffles and Dinges and the DessertTruck are both stars there)
