So i went to a restaurant last night and got thrown out. Its a really good place and i'd like to go back soon but i don't know how long is an appropriate time to stay away. I was thinking of apologizing to the owners and the waiter i yelled at but Im not sure on timing or how to do it or anything. Any help?

  1. say your sry first.

then go bac a month later

  2. man that waiter is gross

you were right, dont go back

  3. Geez, is the ONLY place in town to eat?

  4. I wouldn't go back for 6 - 8 months from now. That way the workers and manger might not remeber you and you wouldn't have to worry.

  5. The guy is blind?? WTF?! I wouldn't apologize. I would introduce them to the health inspector.

  6. write/email them a very nice note appologzizing to show that you're sincere. it can even be only 6 sentences. then, go in the restaurant in about 2 months and act very polite to show that you are sorry. they should understand and they want loyal costumers anyhow.

  7. wear a disguise

get some of those black glasses with the nose and mustache attached and you will be golden!

I am a chef and had to take a sanitation and safety class and I am quite sure the thumb job was not on the sanitation menu!

  8. First, apologize, even if you don't do it in person.

Second, stay away for at least 6 months unless they invite you to come again after you apologize.  Family owned restaurants especially will recognize you if they had thrown you out previously.

  9. I would never go back there.  Maybe the thumb thing was just a one time mistake, but now you have burned the bridge.  Even if you apologize, you can never be sure that their acceptance of your apology is genuine.  You will never know if they are just saying that everything is fine now, but are telling the cook to p**s on your food.  I worked in restaurants for 22 years, and while this sort of thing rarely happens, it does happen.  And when it does happen, it is usually at a family owned restaurant.

  10. personally if i was u i would neva go back!

  11. I understand why you got angry.  I wouldn't want someone's thumb in my glass either. Who knows where it has been.  I think a nice letter of apology is very nice. Offering your services is very very nice.  I would except your apology.  I would make sure I gave the person you yelled at a special apology also.  Good Luck!  Let us know how it turns out.  If they don't except your apology, you could always have a friend to pick the food up as carry out.

  12. Call and apologize, and then tell them what made you angry. I don't care if the waiter was the son of the owner, that is bullsh--. You don't stick your finger in a customers glass. If they don't accept your apology, then call the health food inspector. It should be listed in your phone book under government offices. That is wrong. If they don't correct the waiter, then I would hate to see what else goes on behind closed doors, meaning the kitchen and what other things this guy does. That is gross.

And find a different place to eat. Like I mentioned above, Lord knows what else goes on there. Wonder if the guy even washes his hands after going to the bathroom? And that's in your glass?

I don't know why you got loud. Hey it happens every now and then. Its sounds like there were two wrongs, and at least make an attempt to apologize. But like I said, I think it's time you moved on. Good luck.

  13. Order carry out from there. You can't go back for a long time otherwise.
