  1. I've worked in the industry for 3 decades now and have more stories than you can possibly imagine.  Over those years I have seen customers that were rude beyond description, verbally and physically violent, and I have seen such people get fed every possible thing the human body can produce (both male and female) as well as assorted things from other parts of nature.

My fav customer lately ordered a steak, "Extra, extra, extra, extra well done."  So of course we burned it like shoe leather.  He sent it back saying it was raw.  We cooked it more.  He sent it back saying it was way to raw.  We cooked it more.  He said it was now burned and threw it in the waitresses face.  2 tables away was a local detective who arrested him on the spot for assault.  He was hauled out to the laughter and clapping of all present.

All time worst customer was one who continually made horrifically nasty sexual comments to his waitress and who finally, in the middle of a crowded family restaurant proceeded to drop his pants and start playing with himself.

  2. HAHA!!! I had these redneck, smelly, jackasses last Sunday who walked in as a 14 top! 7 kids, 7 adults. No courtesy call ahead or anything, just hey, we have 14 people, we want to eat.  At my restaurant kids meals are only .99 cents on sunday-thursday so of course that's the only reason they came in. When they sat down I was excited though, because I thought I could make a lot of money off of them and it was slow anyway.  When I first approached the table only five adults, four children and an infant were there.  When I brought the drinks they ordered to the table, they said they were tired of waiting on the other people so they were going to order. As they were ordering, the rest of the party came in and sat down.  One of the people from the original group was so stupid that she ordered the amount of wings and when I asked what kind she wanted she acted surprised even though all of our wings flavors are listed directly above the prices on their own page separate from other food items. So since the rest of the party arrived I got their drink orders, brought them back within a minute, and got their food order so I could put in the party's order as a whole and it could come out at the same time. Now I’m waiting for their food to come up and filling up their drinks because they're sucking them down like f-ing camels.  On the third time I come to refill drinks one of the women says that they've been waiting on their food for forty minutes. I apologize and go to the kitchen to look at the time on the ticket because I wasn't keeping track of the time and the ticket says that it's only been 20 min. I went back to the table and told them that they've only been waiting for 20 min and that the food would be out shortly but before I could finish my sentence one fat *** goes "MANAGER, we want to see a manager."  I got my manager and showed him the ticket time and told him the story so he went to the table.  While he was at the table another server on the floor tells me that his table, which is directly next to my table, is telling him that my table is plotting and scheming ways to get free food. We tell my manager this and he says we are definitely not giving them food just because they are complaining. My manager just tells me to be up their *** so they have nothing more they can complain about.  The get their food, in a timely fashion, and now they seem to calm down. They said they understand it's not my fault the food took long, etc. Over the course of them eating they have their drinks filled up three more times and one of the kids spills a drink. They had me split the check for the four different families. Their bill ended up being only 99$ and change total. I grat them of course, but our gratuity is only 15% of the bill not including tax. It ended up being like 13.50 and of course they didn't tip anything extra. But the kicker, one of them had the nerve to write "Food and service sucked!!" at the top of the credit card slip.  They think that they pissed me off or something but they really didn't. It was in between shifts so if they didn't come in I wouldn't have had a table. They were just some pretty good entertainment before my real shift started.

  3. I don't work in a restaurant, but I know the customer from h**l personally! My aunt makes me cringe, even at McDonalds! At mickey d's, she insists that they make her a fresh batch of fries with no salt. Then she only wants the ketchup that they use on the burgers, not the packets, they have to pump it into little cups for her. I went to a nice seafood place with her a few years ago, and I was so embarrassed that I wanted to crawl beneath the table. She ordered her dinner, then sent it back three (yes, three) times! She dissected the salad when ordering, and told them she wanted the lettuce, but not the cucumbers, she wanted the tomatoes, but not sliced, she needed them diced, and if they were cherry she didn't want them at all. She wanted the croutons on the side in their own cup, she wanted the bacon to be cooked soft, not the crispy kind, and she wanted three different dressings so she could custom make her own! When she got to the side dish (veggies primavera), she actually told them to take out all of the julienned zucchini because she prefers slices. She ordered diet coke, but only wanted it if it was a fountain drink, and she wanted just enough ice to make sure it didn't touch her nose (she sent it back twice till they got it the way she wanted)! I was pregnant at the time, and feigned a dizzy spell just to avoid the ordeal of dessert! When we left, she left a nickel tip, and I took out a $20 and wrote an apology to the waitress on the back of it! I have not eaten out with her since!

  4. Not a personal experience but here we go.  True story of my mom's friend (the manager)

A new waittress was working at this restaurant, and she was nervous.  The customer started yelling at her when she got his order wrong.  She dropped the tray she was carrying too.  The customer was being violent (with his words) and mean towards her and she went into the back and started crying.  So the manager got a pitcher of water, went into the bathroom and filled it with toilet water and gave it to the customer.  AND HE DRANK IT.  lol.  The girl felt much better and hopefully she became an experienced waitress.

There was also a documentary on tv about disgusting restaurants.  And one of them showed this lady pulling out a BIG. LONG. BOOGER, out of her nose and putting it into the coffee.

Moral:  It's best not to p**s of the waiter.

  5. About 2 yrs ago I got a 3 top on a Saturday afternoon.  It was a classic white crash nasty grumpy table with a son his mother and his wife.  The son ordered a steak medium and the mother got a steak portabello fajitas. I repeated the order to them to make sure it was right and there was no problems. Then I got the food in the kitchen and out to the table in a timely manner.  So I went and took care of my other tables while they tasted their food.  Afterwards I asked them if they were enjoying everything the son yells at me and tells me is steak isn't f------ medium it was rare and it his mother proceeds to swear at me too that she ordered a steak with portabello fajitas.  I had to get my manager to help me out and she went to the table to find out what their problem was and they screamed and cussed at her as well.  She decided she wasn't going to tolerate that so she threw them out.  The best part of the day was my other tables ion my section felt so b ad for me they left 10 - 20 dollars a piece.
